Lighting rig
60 × suspended bloom spheres, wireless DMX, 40-minute colour cycle with no hard cuts

A bioluminescent-styled lounge of drifting bloom-lit spheres, built for sitting down, not moving through — the exhale after The Hum.

Afterglow exists because Idris Okafor thought a ninety-decibel room needed somewhere quiet to send people afterward. It is the only room in Pulse with seating, and the only one guests are actively encouraged to stay in past their allotted time.

Sixty suspended bloom spheres drift through a forty-minute colour cycle with no hard cuts, hung low enough to feel close without ever feeling crowded. Floor cushions and low benches ring the perimeter; a single continuous spatial composition plays without repeating within a session.
Afterglow shares its lighting engine, Fieldkit, with Chromatic Drift, tuned to a slower, longer state cycle. It also doubles as the exhibition's quiet room — any guest who needs a break from sound or light at any point in the visit is welcome to come sit here instead.— The role, on Afterglow

Tickets move fast on weekends — Wednesday and Thursday evenings are the quietest way to see all four rooms.
