Marcus Reid
Founder / Site leadCity & Guilds carpenter, thirty-one years on tools. Started Ironwood after a decade of watching good drawings get built badly.

Twenty-two people in a workshop on Drummond Road, most of whom have been here longer than the vans.

Marcus spent ten years as a lead hand watching thoughtful architecture arrive on site and get value-engineered into something ordinary by the third change order. Ironwood exists to close that gap: keep the crew in-house, keep the model honest, and price the thing that was actually drawn.
Seventeen years later we are twenty-two people — carpenters, a structural engineer, two Passivhaus tradespeople and one very organised bookkeeper — and we still only take six to eight projects a year.
