Weathering: New Work in Steel and Stone
A solo presentation of new work in corten steel and quarried basalt, including the first public showing of Weathering Column.
Hoxton Project Space presents Weathering: New Work in Steel and Stone, a solo exhibition by Monolith opening 12 September 2026. The exhibition brings together five sculptures completed between 2024 and 2026, anchored by the first public showing of Weathering Column, an outdoor corten steel piece left to rust for eleven months before entering the gallery.
Curated by Naomi Idris, the exhibition is organised around a question the studio has returned to for fifteen years: what does it mean to build something and then hand its finish over to time and weather? Alongside the sculptures, the gallery will present material studies from the Monolith archive, including test blocks, cut samples and weathering logs not previously shown publicly.
Weathering: New Work in Steel and Stone runs 12 September through 8 November 2026 at Hoxton Project Space, 41 Hoxton Square, London N1 6PB. Admission is free.
