Auto-enrolment through Nest from your first payslip, with an 8% employer contribution on qualifying earnings — well above the 3% statutory minimum. Salary sacrifice is available if you would rather take the National Insurance saving.

118 people, headquartered in Shoreditch with colleagues across the UK and EU. We hire slowly, publish the salary band in the first line of every advert, and give you a decision within two working days of the final interview.

Our office is at 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE — five minutes from Old Street, ten from Liverpool Street, and directly above a coffee shop that knows the whole engineering team by name. London-based colleagues come in two days a week, usually Tuesday and Thursday, because that is when the useful accidental conversations happen.
Everyone else is on a fully remote contract, anywhere in the UK or the EU, and we mean it: no core-hours theatre, no expectation that you relocate later. Remote colleagues come to London once a quarter for a two-day on-site with travel, accommodation and the dinner afterwards paid for.

28 days annual leave plus the 8 UK bank holidays, and we close the office between Christmas and New Year without touching your allowance. You can buy up to five extra days each April.
Bupa cover for you, your partner and your children from day one, with no excess and no waiting period. Dental and optical are included, as is 24/7 remote GP access.
26 weeks at full pay for the primary carer and 8 weeks at full pay for the secondary carer, on top of statutory entitlement, after twelve months of service. Everyone comes back on a four-week phased return at full pay.
Cyclescheme up to £3,000, plus secure bike storage, showers and a drying room at Paul Street. Season ticket loans are available if the Overground suits you better.
£1,500 a year to spend on whatever makes you better at the job — conferences, courses, a stack of books — plus four paid conference days that do not come out of your holiday.
Every permanent employee is granted EMI share options on joining, with four-year vesting, a one-year cliff and a ten-year exercise window so leaving does not force a decision.
MacBook Pro or a Framework laptop, whichever you actually want, plus £500 towards a desk and chair at home and a monitor from the office store cupboard.
Six funded therapy sessions a year through Spill, a 24/7 employee assistance programme for you and your household, and £40 a month towards a gym, a swim or a climbing wall.
Salaries are benchmarked against the London market twice a year and reviewed every April; we do not negotiate individual offers against each other, so what you are paid does not depend on how hard you push. Everything above applies pro rata to part-time contracts.
Nobody here confuses being busy with being useful.Amara Nwosu, Staff Engineer, Query Planner
I joined to work on the query planner and stayed because nobody here confuses being busy with being useful. We shipped a rewrite that halved dashboard load times and then spent a fortnight writing it up properly.
On-call is genuinely quiet, because the incident reviews are honest and the fixes actually get scheduled. I have been paged twice this quarter and both were real.
I have never worked somewhere that treats "we do not know yet" as a legitimate answer in a roadmap review. It makes the things we do commit to worth something.
A conversation with one of our talent partners over Google Meet. We put the salary band and the shape of the role on the table in the first ten minutes so nobody wastes an afternoon finding out we are miles apart.
The person you would report to walks you through what the team is actually working on this quarter, and asks about work you have shipped. Bring questions — the ones you ask tell us as much as the ones you answer.
A take-home capped at three hours, paid at £250 whether or not we make an offer, or a 90-minute live pairing session on our codebase if you would rather not work in the evening. Your choice, and the choice does not affect the outcome.
Two 45-minute sessions with people you would work alongside daily, covering collaboration and one deeper technical or craft topic relevant to the role. No whiteboard algorithms.
A written offer within two working days of the final interview, showing the salary, the band you sit in and the option grant. References are taken after you accept, never before.
Every candidate gets written feedback within three working days of each stage, including after the first call. If you need an adjustment at any point — extra time, a different interview format, materials in advance, an accessible meeting room — tell your talent partner and it will be arranged without a fuss. See our accessibility statement for how we approach this more broadly.
Aurora Labs Ltd is an equal opportunities employer. We recruit on evidence of what you have done, not where you studied, and we anonymise CVs at the first sift. If you are close to a role but not a perfect match, apply anyway — we have hired several people who talked us into a job that was not quite on this list.
Book a walkthrough of the product with a solutions engineer. Plenty of people have joined us six months after sitting through one of those.
