Sand-cast in solid brass from a pattern turned in the 1930s and still in the foundry’s rack, then hand-finished and left unlacquered so it will darken unevenly with handling. In a year it will not look like the photograph, and that is the point.

Solid sand-cast brass, hand-fettled and burnished. Unlacquered — supplied deliberately without a protective coating so it can patinate.

Care+
Wipe with a dry cloth. To hold the bright finish, polish occasionally with a brass wadding; to let it darken, do nothing at all. Remove wax with hot — not boiling — water.

Note that unlacquered means unlacquered — mine started going warm and mottled within a month. I like it, but go in knowing.
